Blackheath's housing reflects its origins as a later-Victorian industrial settlement that grew up between Halesowen and Rowley Regis. Around the High Street, Long Lane and Birmingham Road there are long runs of Victorian and Edwardian terraces, many of them on steeply sloping streets that make rear access for materials interesting.
